I was searching for a quick bite to eat in the city before my improv comedy class, when I came across Empire Steak. The place looks new and shiny as the steak sandwich restaurant has been open less than a year. After having a look at the small menu, I settled on ordering “The Battler” with a grain salad on the side.

The medium rare steak was served up in just 6 minutes. It tasted ok, the onion relish was nice, but the whole sandwich was a tad “Meh”. I think the steak needed a bit more seasoning. The grain salad, on the other, had was quite tasty. The roasted cauliflower was crunchy, the lentils were soft it was all and complemented the generous amount of pomegranate arils.

Steak Empire is good for a quick lunch bite in the city, but not suitable for a full dinner experience.
