After a long hike in You Yangs, Janeca and I were searching for somewhere tasty to refuel. Not many places seemed to be open on Queens Birthday, but luckily Google Maps recommended Golden Grill Kebab House.
We started looking at the menu at the front, but it turns out they have a different menu for dine-in out the back.
I went straight for the mixed grill plate. It had a delicious array or chicken shish, lamb shish, Iskender, kofte accompanied by tabouli salad and rice. The meat was well cooked and rich. The kofte was particularly juicy, a real highlight. Tabouli salad was fresh, but needed a bit touch more bulgur wheat. Rice was scrumptious, there was a nice oil through it.
Janeca had the lamb ribs plate. The ribs well perfectly cooked, and good portion size too. Same rice and salad as mixed grill plate. We also got some freshly baked pide with our meals. It was warm and fluffy, good to have with the meat.
If you’re in the area and have a hankering for meat, it’s worth popping into Golden Grill Kebab House.
