Every Saturday at Alma Park there is a local food truck pop-up festival called “Hank Marvin” (Aussie rhyming slang for I’m Starving!). Its a really nice place to visit with friends, or a date as there are some many different foods to choose from. This month they had South African sausage slingers, Boeri Bros. The staff there are welcoming, and pretty chilled.
I tried their original Boeri Dog with Peach sauce. They make their snags to order, which means they are super fresh, but take about 10 minutes to cook. (It felt like 10 hours, as I was super hungry! 😋 The sausage itself was a traditional Boerewors. Intense meaty and garlic flavours were complemented by the sweet peach sauce. While it came with a lone lettuce leaf, it probably needed a bit more green. Served with salty crisps on the side which was a pleasant surprise. I really enjoyed the Boeri Bro’s food truck, and recommend meat lovers to give them a go.
