The last week I earned a $50 voucher for the South Melbourne Market, so Janeca and I did our weekly shop and then searched for somewhere to refuel. Enter Happy Place by Lola Berry. They had a nice out white designed fit-out and with lots of crystals and a see-through refrigerator. I don’t know why a juice bar would invest in a special fridge and then have not put a bit more effort into making it look organised.
We got the Tropical Island Bowl. The bowl was very flavoursome. The toppings went really well with the mango smoothie inside. The dish was described on the menu as “Mango, banana, coconut yoghurt, macadamia nuts, turmeric, honey & coconut milk.”, and priced at $14. What we got was quite different to what the menu describes. It had a lot of toppings not described on the menu, like strawberries, kiwi fruit and shaved coconut. I was kind of astounded why the menu wouldn’t include this. Maybe they should add “Topped with seasonal fruits and shredded coconut.”
The service was friendly and fast. They have all looked happy to be working in the happy place! The Happy Place is worth a visit if you’re looking a quick pick me up, just be wary of the menu if you have any allergies or intolerances as they can include extra goodies.
