El Alamo is a small food stall in the middle of Prahran Market. They offer Argentinian empanadas, small pastries filled with a choice of beef, chicken, spinach & mushroom or cheese & onion. Janeca and I got a three pack on our latest visit to the market. The pastry had a nice crunch and the slow cooked beef was so soft. The chicken variety had really large pieces of whole chicken, you can tell the high quality of the ingredients they use. You must try putting some complementary chimichurri sauce on top of your empanadas, the herbs really elevate the pastries. The empanadas are good value, you can get 3 for $13.
