Georgie Porgie is a hip new cafe/restaurant in Bentleigh, founded by its chef and namesake George Foundas. They serve a range of breakfast classics alongside burgers, dogs and monster thick shakes. Plus some great coffees and teas of course.
We started off with some chorizo snags. They were accompanied by red pepper caramel, mustard, in a super soft bun and red cabbage. The chorizo was so juicy, went so well with the red pepper caramel, which was so good they should bottle it and sell separately. There were two dogs on the plate, but they are quite filling. One hotdog would be enough for most people. Perfectly golden and crispy fries on the side too.
Janeca tried the ham off the bone, tomato and cheese jaffle. The gooey cheese was complemented by the salty ham. A breakfast basic done well, what more can you ask for?
Also had a tangy blood orange and chilli lemonade, and energising coffee. No “Latte Art” for once! Is the trend over? I feel like it has had its day…
With good service and delicious food, Georgie Porgie is one of Melbourne’s must visit cafes.
I was honoured to be invited to dine as a guest at Georgie Porgie.
