I am addicted to fried chicken. When I heard that Korea’s largest restaurant chain, Pelicana, was coming to Melbourne, I knew I had to visit. They have over 2000 establishments in South Korea, China, Malaysia and America.
Pelicana marinate the chickens for 48 hours, then divide it into pieces for a 2nd marinade. They then deep-fry the chicken for exactly 10 minutes! Finally you can choose from 12 different sauce flavours. We chose Pelicana sauce and original.
The chicken was delicious. Crispy on the outside, juicy and moist on the inside. The Pelicana sauce was a combination of garlic and mild chilli, and was perfectly sweet too. A whole flavoured chicken will set you back about $35. Comes with some nice radish and coleslaw on the side.
The restaurant has a basic fitout, and is good for groups and drinking sessions too. We came in a group of 14 and the kitchen was serving us and delivery services with aplomb.
